Structure: Wet permanent magnet drum magnetic separator is mainly composed of a cylinder, roller, brush roller, magnetic system, tank body and transmission part.

The permanent magnet drum magnetic separator is a wet magnetic separator with high field strength. Comprised of big rare-earth NdFeB magnet blocks and ferrite magnet blocks with high magnetic properties, the composite magnetic system has a large depth of action and is hard to demagnetize. Due to the large processing capacity, the equipment is able to adapt to changes in production, and it also has a good selection effect. Magnetic separators are widely used in the wood industry, mining, kiln industry, chemical, food and other industries. Other applications include removing iron from coal, non-metallic minerals, building materials, and other materials. It is one of the most widely used and versatile models in the industry.

Magnetic Separator Classification:
Permanent magnetic separators and electromagnetic magnetic separators are the two types of magnetic separators. Most permanent magnetic separators use ferrite materials or composites with rare earth magnetic steel as their magnetic system. There is an average magnetic induction intensity of 80-400mT on the surface of the magnetic cylinder.
In further technological advancement, after the magnetic separator can be made into a roll shape, the magnetic field intensity is also increased to 1650mT, which is already the highest magnetic field intensity measured by the current permanent magnet magnetic separator. Electromagnetic magnetic separators often have better results than permanent magnets because their magnetic flux is stronger. Companies with low budgets have embraced permanent magnets despite their electromagnetic nature, high power consumption, vulnerable nature, and difficult maintenance.

In the downstream permanent magnet drum magnetic separator, the pulp feed direction coincides with the drum turning direction, and it is usually used for 6-0mm strong magnetic separation of coarse minerals, low recovery rate, and high taste, but it is not suitable for fine-grained products.
Generally used for magnetic ores with a slurry feeding direction opposite to the drum’s direction, it yields high recovery rates (because the tailings discharge point is far from the feeding port, and it is not full) but low grade (because the tailings discharge point is far from the feeding port).
Drums of the semi-countercurrent type: the pulp is fed in the same direction as the rotating drum half, the other half is opposite, and the pulp rotates in the tank in a circle. Because the pulp is washed into a scattered shape by the dispersing water, inclusions are prevented and the movement direction of the pulp follows that of the magnetic force.

Working Principle:
As the ore slurry flows into the tank body through the ore feeding box, the loose ore particles enter the ore feeding area of the tank body under the action of the water flow from the ore feeding water spray pipe. Magnetic ore particles aggregate to form magnetic chains or clusters due to the action of the magnetic field. Magnetic poles are alternately arranged along the rotation direction of the cylinder and are fixed during operation. During rotation of the “magnetic chain” or “magnetic group”, a magnetic stirring phenomenon occurs due to the alternate alternation of the magnetic poles, and is mixed with The non-magnetic minerals such as gangue fall off during turning, and the “magnetic chain” or “magnetic group” that is attracted on the surface of the cylinder is the concentrate. Under the action of the flushing water from the discharge pipe, the concentrate is transferred to the edge of the magnetic system with cylinder where the magnetic force is weak, and is discharged into the concentrate tank. Minerals that are not magnetic or weakly magnetic are left in the pulp and are discharged with the pulp, that is, tailings.

Scope of use:
Wet magnetic separation is suitable for magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite and other materials with a particle size of less than 3mm, and it can also be used to remove iron from coal, non-metallic ores, building materials and other materials. Magnetic separators are composed of ferrite material or ferrite compounded with rare earth magnetic steel, with an average magnetic induction intensity of 100-600mT on the surface of the cylinder. In order to meet the needs of users, we offer magnetic separation with different surface strengths, such as cocurrent, semi-countercurrent, and countercurrent. Magnetic separators are characterized by a simple structure, a large processing capacity, convenient operation and easy maintenance.
