Combined beneficiation process of barite

Combined beneficiation process of barite

The barite ore associated with sulfide ore often adopts a combined process of gravity separation flotation. Taking the selection of barite quartz calcite type ores as an example, in the combined flotation gravity separation process, sodium silicate and collectors are added to the flotation tank to remove quartz impurities, resulting in a mixed ore of barite and calcite. Then, based on the density difference between calcite and other gangue minerals and barite, gravity separation equipment such as jigs and shakers are used for gravity separation operations, ultimately obtaining a barite concentrate.

Process flow of barite combined beneficiation

1.Crushing and grinding:

  • The raw ore is first roughly crushed by a jaw crusher, and then finely crushed by a ball mill to grind the ore into fine powder, in order to facilitate better contact between the flotation agent and the mineral surface.

2.Flotation:

  • Add sodium silicate as a regulator to the flotation cell to suppress the flotation of quartz and other gangue minerals, and add a collector to remove quartz impurities.
  • During the flotation process, quartz is removed due to the density difference with barite and calcite, resulting in a mixed ore of barite and calcite.

3.Re selection:

  • The mixed ore after flotation flows into gravity separation equipment such as jigs or shakers, and is sorted based on the density difference between calcite and other gangue minerals and barite.
  • In the jig, barite is selected due to its high density, while gangue minerals such as calcite are excluded.
  • The shaking table sorting further improves the selection effect of barite, and through the vibration effect of the shaking table, the barite is separated from the gangue minerals.

4. Selection and Concentration:

  • The selected barite concentrate is subjected to selection operations to further improve the purity and grade of barite.
  • The selected barite concentrate is concentrated to remove excess moisture and obtain a relatively dry barite concentrate

5.Drying and Packaging:

  • Finally, the concentrated barite concentrate is dried to obtain the final product, which is then packaged for export or sale.

Technological advantages

  • 1.Efficient Separation:The flotation gravity combined process can effectively separate barite and associated minerals, improving the purity and grade of the product.
  • 2. Good selectivity:By combining flotation adjustment agents and re selection equipment, effective separation of barite and gangue minerals can be achieved, reducing the inclusion of associated minerals.
  • 3.Strong adaptability:The combined process can adapt to different types and grades of barite ore, with good flexibility.
  • 4.Flexible operation:Adjustment of flotation and re selection conditions, such as changes in the type and dosage of reagents, can enable the process to adapt to different ore characteristics.
  • 5. Economically Reasonable:Compared with other beneficiation methods, the combined process usually has better economic efficiency in processing barite ore.
  • 6.Environmentally friendly:The reagents used in flotation and re selection processes are relatively few, and their impact on the environment is relatively small.
  • The combined process of barite flotation and gravity separation has the advantages of efficient separation, good selectivity, strong adaptability, flexible operation, economic rationality, and environmental friendliness. It is an effective beneficiation method suitable for treating barite ore associated with sulfide ore.
